1930 - AN ART DECO MANSION IN PARIS
Built in 1930 for Paul and Amélia Bénazet, this Art Deco style mansion was designed by architects Émile Molinié and Charles Nicod.
The latter had already carried out several renowned projects together, notably the famous Domergue villa, also in Art Deco style, or the plans for elegant houses in Neuilly-sur-Seine, on the famous private road of the avenue du Parc-Saint-James
1944 - HOME OF GENERAL DE GAULLE’S SECURITY SERVICES
Requisitioned by the Germans during the Second World War, Villa Amélia was then occupied by the security services of General de Gaulle, then president of the provisional government and installed with his family in what is now Villa Windsor.
Since 2023 - ITS RESTORATION
In 2023, the Paris Council decided to entrust the Mansart Foundation, a foundation recognized as being of public utility, with the restoration of Villa Amélia. At the end of major work, the Mansart Foundation will open the doors of this exceptional place with a program of exhibitions and events for all audiences.
